Rajkummar Rao Roped In For Meghna Gulzar’s Film Starring Deepika Padukone
Mumbai: After her fairytale wedding followed by grand receptions, actress Deepika Padukone is back in action. She is looking forward to starting her new project, based on the life of an acid attack survivor. Directed by Meghna Gulzar of ‘Raazi’ fame, the film will go on floors in March.
According to a leading entertainment portal, Rajkummar Rao has also been roped in to play a substantial role in the film. While Rajkummar’s part in the film is small, it is substantial and the actor is excited about it.
A source close to the project said, “The role is substantial and has excited Rao. He has not yet worked with Deepika. A role that drives back home a social message has excited that actor. Rao is never excited about the length of the roles. He did a superb cameo in Raabta which got many people talking especially for his make-up among other things.”
Although Rajkummar has been approached by the makers, he is yet to sign the dotted line. Interestingly, this project will mark the first collaboration between Deepika and the very talented Rajkummar Rao who recently won hearts in films like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Newton and Stree.
