Raj Kundra reacts to PR stunt criticism over offering kidney to Premanand Maharaj
Raj Kundra's recent video of him offering one of his kidneys to Premanand Maharaj has surfaced online, sparking major public outrage.
Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra drew public attention after a video from their recent visit to Vridavan surfaced online. This video comes after the ongoing financial fraud allegations on the couple.
In the video, Raj and Shilpa are seen having a conversation with spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj. During the discussion, Premanand Maharaj shared details about his health explaining that both his kidneys had failed. He further added that he had been living in this condition for the past ten years.
Moved by this, Raj offered to donate one of his kidneys to which Shilpa appeared to be visibly surprised. While appreciating the gesture, Maharaj politely declined the offer.
As the clip spread online, social media users reacted sharply by criticizing the couple and calling the gesture as ‘publicity stunt’.
Later, Raj Kundra took to his social media handle to express disappointment over the reactions. He wrote, “Strange world we live in when someone chooses to offer a part of themselves to save another’s life, it’s mocked as a PR stunt.”
“My past does not cancel my present choices, and my present intentions are not for you to measure with your cynicism. Judge less, love more you might just save a life too.” He further added.
Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have been facing allegations for allegedly cheating a businessman of over 60 crore.
The complaint, filed by businessman Deepak Kothari, director of Lotus Capital Financial Services Ltd, claims that the couple took the money under the pretext of expanding their business but used it for personal expenses instead.
