Raajneeti sequel in making! Director Prakash Jha hints at second part as movie turns 15

Fifteen years ago, the film Raajneeti hit the silver screens. The 2010 political drama with its power-packed star cast including Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal, Nana Patekar, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles became a cult.

A modern take on the epic Mahabharata, the film took over a year of pre-production posing a challenge for director Prakash Jha. At the very outset he recalled how the screenwriter of the film Anjum Rajabali had a number of doubts.

The director while speaking to a popular daily has confirmed that he is in plans to make a sequel to the film.

The film was an instant hit with even its songs creating magic. The soundtrack was enticing with eminent composers including Aadesh Shrivastava, Pritam, Shantanu Moitra and Wayne Sharpe coming together.

The film minted Rs 145 crore as against the budget of Rs 45 crore.
