R Madhavan recently spoke about the rumors on his interactions with young girls on Instagram. The actor made things clear on the issue while launching Parent Geenee Inc, a location-based parental control app, in Chennai. Interestingly, Madhavan has become an investor and strategic partner of the app.

Madhavan explained how he is worried about the unnecessary attention he receives on social media, and he gave a particular example. A young girl had sent him a message on Instagram, complimenting him on his work, and signing off with hearts, kisses, and love symbols. Madhavan had replied with a courteous thank-you message. But the girl had taken a screenshot of his reply and put it up online, which created rumors regarding his communication with young girls.

While speaking in the launching event, Maddy said, “I am an actor. I have all these people messaging me on Instagram and social media. I’ll tell you a simple example. A young girl messages me. ‘I saw this movie. I really loved it. I thought you’re a fabulous actor. Well done. You motivate me. And at the end of it, she puts lots of hearts and kisses and love symbols. Now, when there’s a fan who is talking to me in such detail, I am compelled to answer. So I always say ‘Thank you so much. Very kind of you. God bless you.’ This is my reply to her. What she does is, she takes a screenshot of my reply to her and makes it as a post on Instagram. Now, what do people see? Hearts and kisses and love things. And Maddy is replying to that.”

Madhavan pointed out that his only goal was to react to the message of the girl and not enter into any form of flirtation. He showed irritation over having been misconstrued and the possible hassle other people, particularly those with no experience like himself, may experience in similar cases.

The actor’s remarks have been made at a time when he is preparing for a number of upcoming Tamil and Hindi projects. His latest film, Hisaab Barabar, dealt with the topic of bank frauds. He is next to be seen in the Tamil movies Adhirshtasaali and Test, followed by the Hindi movies Amriki Pandit, De De Pyaar De 2, Kesari Chapter 2, and Dhurandhar.
