Mumbai court summons Salman Khan for allegedly misbehaving with journalist

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has landed himself in legal trouble once again. A local court in Mumbai has summoned him and his bodyguard Nawaz Shaikh on the basis of a complaint filed by a journalist. The FIR registered is in connection with the dispute that took place in 2019.

A metropolitan magistrate RR Khan on tuesday, during his order, noted that a police report was made againt Salman. According to the report, offences made against the accused were under the Indian Penal Code Sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) are made out against the accused persons.

Following the complaint, the court has issued summons and declared further hearing of the case to be on April 5.

The complaint lodged by Journalist Ashok Pandey reads that criminal action to be initiated against actor Salman Khan and Mr Shaikh, his bodyguard.

Ashok alleged that when the ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ star was cycling on a Mumbai street, some media persons started clicking his photos. He was one of those media persons and Salman snatched away his mobile phone during that time.

Earlier, the court had directed the local police station to conduct an inquiry on the matter and submit a report.

Reportedly, there are sufficient grounds including the self-speaking material on record, positive police report and other material on record, to proceed the case against the accused.
