Miss World 2018 winner is Mexico’s Vanessa Ponce De Leon

Sanya: The winner of Miss World 2018 has been finally announced and it is Miss Mexico Vanessa Ponce De Leon. She was crowned at an event that took place at Sanya City Arena in China.

De Leon was selected as the winner of the most coveted beauty pageant of the year among 117 percipients from around the world.

Thailand’s Nicolene Limsnukan was named first runner-up.

The 26-year-old Vanessa has a degree in International Business and is currently on the board of directors of a rehab centre for girls and volunteers for ‘Migrantes en el Camino’. She is a speaker for the National Youth Institute. She is also working as a model and a presenter.

India’s Manushi Chhillar, who was Miss World-2017, crowned Vanessa Ponce De Leon. She is the first Mexican queen to have won the title.

The 68th edition of the international beauty pageant witnessed a new format with the selection of top five beauty queens from the Continental Queens of Beauty. The Top 30 were trimmed down to Top 12. The Top 12 semi-finalists were grouped into five continents namely Africa, Americas, Asia and Oceania, Caribbean and Europe.

Belarus’ Maria Vasilevich, Jamaica’s Kadijah Robinson and Uganda’s Quiin Abenakyo were the other top five contenders of the beauty completion.
