Mumbai: With back-to-back hits, Ayushmann Khuranna is on a roll. With the success of Bareilly Ki Barfi, Shubh Mangal Savdhaan, Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho, the talented actor has entered the big league. And now, joining him in films is wife Tahira Kashyap, who is all set to make her directorial debut very soon.
If reports are to be believed, Tahira has already roped in Madhuri Dixit to play the lead in her film. According to a report in Filmfare, the project is said to be a slice-of-life movie. Madhuri’s character is something that she has not attempted before. However, the actress to play Madhuri’s daughter is yet to be finalised.
Note worthy, Tahira Kashyap is an aspiring film director. She has made some short films which have garnered appreciation in India as well as International Film Festivals. Tahira has been diagnosed with cancer but she is fighting it out bravely, serving as an inspiration to many others who are battling the disease.
Talking about her directorial debut, Tahira told a leading publication, “I am delighted to be working with such incredible partners to bring a take on urban existence to the big screen. It feels surreal that something I had dreamt of for the longest, is finally happening. I’ve been writing screenplays for five years. It wasn’t an easy ride for me. I’m glad that Ellipsis believed in me, and together with T-Series, has given me a platform to breathe life into my script. I am truly excited about this new phase in my life and career.”
With Madhuri onboard, we are sure the film will be a fine piece of cinematic art. The film is expected to go on floors as soon as rest of the cast of the film is finalised.
