Mumbai: The trailer of ‘Bharat’ has created quite a stir and fans are eagerly waiting to watch Salman Khan as Bharat in the film. Another factor which has generated an equal amount of curiosity is Katrina Kaif’s classic retro look in the trailer.
In ‘Bharat’, Katrina can be seen in a retro-inspired look- draped in gorgeous sarees and sporting curly hair. The actress looks ethereal in the traditional avatar which has been inspired by none other than the former Miss India and legendary actress Nutan.
Talking about Katrina Kaif’s evolution in the film, her stylist Veera Kapur told Filmfare that they took a lot of references from yesteryear actresses of the Hindi film industry, especially Nutan. Veera said, “We watched many old films and looked at images of yesteryear Bollywood actresses, like Nutan. Katrina also loved the idea of having curls. She thought it would create an image different from her previous characters.
She further added, “We used prosthetics to show the ageing process. While Katrina sports a chiselled jawline in the younger portions, we made it less defined as the story progressed. In the latter portions, you can see her with fuller cheeks, under-eye wrinkles and grey hair. It would take us about two hours to attain the look.”
‘Bharat’ is an official remake of a Korean film ‘An Ode To My Father’. It depicts the history of India through the life of an ordinary man.
The movie also stars Tabu, Jackie Shroff and Nora Fatehi and has been shot extensively in Delhi, Punjab, Malta, and Abu Dhabi.
‘Bharat’ is slated for an Eid release on June 5, 2019.
