The story is rooted in social values and focuses on the bond between a father and son. Like waves of laughter, it also depicts waves of tears, capturing many ups and downs of real life.

The film also carries the message that age is never a barrier to development. It shows how villagers are driving progress through eco-tourism.

‘Lahari’ had earlier been screened and received appreciation at the Kolkata International Film Festival and the Melbourne Film Festival.
