Konkona Sen Sharma & Bhumi Pednekar In Alankrita Shrivastava’s Next

Mumbai: It was reported a few days back that Lipstick Under My Burkha director Alankrita Shrivastava will be re-uniting with producer Ekta Kapoor for another female oriented film. According to latest reports, Konkona Sen Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar have been approached by the makers to play the lead roles in the film. Interestingly, this would be Konkona’s second collaboration with Alankrita Shrivastava who had earlier directed her in ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’.

According to Filmfare, the film is about two women and their coming-of-age story which is set in Greater Noida. When Alankrita narrated the script, both Bhumi and Konkona loved it and immediately agreed to be a part of the project. They are presently prepping for the film and will start shooting from next week.

Alankrita has expressed that working with Ekta was a remarkbale experience and she is more than happy to reunite with her for a second time. She added that Ekta has a lot of courage to take risks and she is the right person for the kind of female oriented films that she desires to make.

On the work front, Bhumi Pednekar will be next seen in Abhisekh Chaubey’s Sonchiriya opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. She has also committed to feature in Takht, a historical drama directed by Karan Johar, which features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor.

Konkona Sen Sharma too has an interesting line-up of films. The national award winning actor will be seen in Seema Pahwa’s directorial debut Pind Dan, Tanuja Chandra’s short film titled A Monsoon Date and Scholarship with Kalki Koechlin.
