KBC host Amitabh Bachchan makes monetary donation to help save toddler

Bollywood celebrity Deepika Padukone and Farah Khan made an appearance on the Friday’s episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 13. Both the stars were playing for a special cause. Where Deepika mentioned her cause to be raising money for her mental health campaign, Farah said whatever money she wins, will be used to help a 17-month-old child who is suffering from a rare illness.

The toddler is identified as Ayaansh, who is suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a rare disease that affects a child’s central nervous system.

The host of the show, Amitabh Bachchan, was moved by the child’s condition and therefore decided to make a monetary donation towards the cause.

In a promo video shared by Sony Entertainment Television, prior to the airing of the show, Farah can be seen getting emotional while sharing the story of the kid. The video also shows glimpse of the child along with his mother who tells the world how when Ayaansh was seven month old, she started noticing a decline in his movement. He was then diagnosed with the serious disease.

Farah also mentions that the cost of the injection that the child needs by the time he turn two years old is the most expensive drug in the world with a cost of 16crore INR. That is the only thing that can save his life.

Although Amitabh Bachchan’s did not mention the amount of the donation he offered to make until the end of the show, Farah showed gratitude to him for his action with folded hands. The host also urged viewers to come forwards and help.
