In India, the film has earned Rs. 162.85 crore net (Rs. 195.50 crore gross) within its opening three days. Saturday proved to be a big day with collections of around Rs. 55 crore, showing nearly a 20% jump from Friday’s Rs. 46 crore.

The Kannada version has drawn extraordinary crowds, recording a 94% occupancy for its night shows on Saturday, while the Hindi version has contributed over Rs. 40 crore so far.

A prequel to the 2022 Super hit Kantara, the film goes back a thousand years before the events of the original.

Written, directed and led by Rishab Shetty, along with Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram and Gulshan Devaiah, Kantara Chapter 1 blends folklore, tradition and action to create a grand cinematic experience.

With its record-breaking pace, the film is expected to cross the Rs. 250 crore milestone by Sunday, making it one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.
