Mumbai: Bollywood actors Kangana Ranaut and Aditya Pancholi are now involved in a legal battle based on defamatory remarks, where the former accusing the latter of being physically abusive toward her in a TV show.
Kangana’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee confirmed the development. “The defamation notice received by the Advocate representing Mr. Aditya Pancholi and Ms. Zarina Wahab has been duly replied to. My client who has been a victim of crime has largely spoken about her personal experiences, which were already reported on various media platforms since the year 2007”, Siddiquee said to media persons.
“The law of the land does not give any added advantage to any male person to silence any (victim) woman under the threat of filing defamation proceedings against her”, he added.
Kangana’s lawyer received the legal notice on September 26, and sent the response on Saturday.
Notably, Kangana spoke at length about her abusive relationship with actor Aditya Pancholi on the show ‘Aap Ki Adaalat’. That didn’t go down well neither with Aditya nor his wife Zarina Wahab. The couple slapped legal action against the ‘Queen’ actress.
Kangana and Aditya Pancholi were allegedly in a serious relationship at the time of the former’s struggling days.
