It’s Official: Rajkummar And Shraddha To Reunite For ‘Stree’ Sequel

Mumbai: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree which released this Friday has been declared a hit. The horror comedy has raked in huge numbers at the box office and critics are singing hossanas for the film and the stupendous performances of the starcast.

Inspired by this, producer Dinesh Vijan has announced a sequel to ‘Stree’. The film will retain the original cast of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor and is scheduled to go on floors by the end of 2019.

According to a report published in DNA, producer Dinesh Vijan confirmed the sequel saying that a sequel was always in the offing- hence the film’s open-ended denouement.  In the sequel, along with Shraddha’s backstory, a few other relevant questions will be answered. The cast will be retained but the sequel may include new actors too. However, the story will pre-dominantly revolve around Rajkummar and Shraddha’s characters.

Meanwhile, Stree maintained its fantastic run at the box office and collected a total of 32.07 crore in three days. The film is expected to cross the 50 crore mark on Tuesday.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree is a horror comedy which revolves around a mysterious female ghost, who abducts men in the night and leaves behind their clothes. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Aparshakti Khurana in key roles and has been shot at real locations in Chanderi and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh.
