Mumbai: On the occasion of Janmastami, renowned filmmaker Imtiaz Ali announced that he will soon make a film based on the eternal love story of Radha and Krishna. The ace filmmaker who is known for films like Jab We Met, Tamasha and Rockstar said this film is one of his long-cherished projects- a love story which is very close to his heart. Ali added that he has always wanted to explore the divine love between Lord Krishna and Radha on the big screen.
Talking about the project, Imtiaz said he has always been fascinated by the eternal love story of Radha and Krishna. In all of the Indian folklore, he knows of no other story which is so intensely personal and yet has such an epic scale. Ali revealed that it has been his dream to step into the world of Radha Krishna.
As per reports, this ambitious film will be produced jointly by Reliance Entertainment and Imtiaz Ali’s Window Seat Films. Confirming their association with the project, a Reliance spokesperson said that Imtiaz’s idea to translate the eternal love story of Radha Krishna on the silver screen is extremely fascinating and they are delighted to partner with him on this journey. Both the partners are exploring various collaborations on the project to ensure that the project is made on a grand scale.
Notably, Imtiaz Ali’s last directorial was Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ which had released last year. At present, he is looking forward to the release of his production Laila Majnu. The film is directed by his brother Sajid Ali and stars Tripti Dimri and Avinash Tiwary in lead roles. The film is slated to release on September 7, 2018.
