Deepika Padukone to play Suhana Khan’s mother in King! Fans say ‘itne bure din aagaye’
Deepika Padukone to play Suhana Khan's mother in King, marking another on-screen collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan, upcoming film.
Deepika Padukone’s on-screen motherhood roles just keep adding up. Having played Shah Rukh Khan’s mom in Jawan and Ranbir Kapoor’s in Brahmastra, now she’ll play Suhana Khan’s mom in King. Fans are left confused, wondering why she’s playing so many similar roles so close to each other.
The news comes as part of a Peeping Moon exclusive, where Deepika’s casting in King, Suhana Khan’s debut venture, was outed. The film, starring SRK, too, has changed directors with Siddharth Anand replacing the previous one.
This is not the first time Deepika has played a motherly role. She’s also a mother to Kalki in the new film Kalki 2898 AD. The fans are showing disappointment and frustration, believing that she’s being stereotyped as a supporting actress or cameo artist.
The comments are flowing in, some humorously exclaiming “Sabki Mummy banegi DP” (DP will become everyone’s mom). Some are concerned that Deepika has been taking small roles, one of them saying, “Deepu, itte bure din aa gaye ki Suhana ki mummy banna pad raha hai” (Deepu, times are so bad that you’re having to play Suhana’s mom).
The movie King has created buzz, but the fans are already speculating its success on the basis of cast and crew. Some are eager to watch Deepika and SRK once again on screen, while some are doubtful about the success of the movie. One of the fans mentioned, “I can already see the whole movie in my mind. Too many frequent collaborators here.”
