Boney Kapoor Slaps Legal Notice On Priya Prakash Varrier’s Film ‘Sridevi Bungalow’

Mumbai: Producer Boney Kapoor has sent a legal notice to the makers of the film ‘Sridevi Bungalow’. The film, which marks the Bollywood debut of internet sensation Priya Prakash Varrier or the ‘Wink Girl’ has been directed by Prasanth Mambully.

The official teaser of ‘Sridevi Bungalow’ was launched on Sunday and looks like it tried to cash on Kapoor’s wife and veteran actress Sridevi’s death. The trailer of the film has stark similarities with the life of the late actress. 

The 1-minute-49-seconds long video depicts Varrier as a lonely actress who died in a fashion similar to that of Sridevi. The ‘Mom’ actress died last year after accidentally drowning in a bathtub in a Dubai hotel.

The director of the film, Mambully, confirmed the news of the legal notice. “We received a legal notice from Mr. Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. My film is a suspense thriller. I told him that Sridevi is a common name. My film’s character also happens to be an actress. We will face it,” said Mambully.

Moreover, Priya Prakash Varrier was seen posting pictures with Bollywood actors like Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal. There are rumours claiming that she has been cast for Karan Johar’s historical drama ‘Takht’, which stars both Singh and Kaushal.
