Amrita Rao, RJ Anmol opens up about losing a baby via surrogacy
Bollywood actress Amrita Rao and husband RJ Anmol are one of the most adored couples of the industry. The couple run a YouTube channel together named ‘Couple of Things.’ On their channel, the duo often share peeks into their love life, parenthood and family relationships. However, in a recent video, the couple opened up about their four year pregnancy struggle and revealed that they tried many methods to embrace parenthood including surrogacy, IUI, IVF, homeopathy, and Ayurveda.
The video begins with Amrita revealing that for the first three years the couple had to go in and around their gynecologist’s clinic and the doctor advised them to go for IUI. However, it did not work out for them hence, they were told to opt for surrogacy. Anmol said that it was a big decision for them and they were thinking about it then. “Frankly I was like haan haan mujhe pregnant nahi banna padega na, theek hai. Of course, there are many factors that the baby will get a lot of qualities of that surrogate mother and not what the original mother can give to the baby,” Amrita added.
The couple then went down the memory lane as Anmol recalled the time when the doctor called him and said that the surrogate mother was pregnant. They met the mother and felt the baby’s heartbeat for the first time. But, a few days later they were informed that they have lost the child as the surrogate mother had a miscarriage. “It still breaks my heart” the RJ said.
Amrita then carried the video by sharing a positive message to aspiring parents as she asked them to not get emotional as it is not in their hands. The couple then said that they were suggested to opt for IVF, but unfortunately that also did not work out for them.
Amrita and Anmol revealed that they were also suggested to visit an ayurvedic doctor. To which Amrita stated that the medicines were not co-operating with her body as she started getting rashes on the skin.
Meanwhile, after trying for around four years, the couple finally got pregnant in 2020. They said that they were at Koh Samui in Thailand, for a vaccation, when they got the news that they were expecting. On November 1, 2020, the couple welcomed their son Veer.
