Amitabh Bachchan recalls first time taking parents to restaurant with his earnings, here’s his story

Amitabh Bachchan returns to host Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, and he recalled a touching incident in the first episode of taking his parents to a posh restaurant in Delhi for the first time. Big B talked about how he earned some money and took his parents for a lunch at Moti Mahal, a well-known restaurant in Delhi and how he was apprehensive about the reaction of others, whether or not they’d be accepted and judged for their attire.

“I had earned a small amount, so I took them there. I was very nervous thinking that it’s an expensive restaurant where rich people go, we wouldn’t fit in. If we went there, how would people look at us, what would happen, how would our clothes be? What would people say?” Amitabh Bachchan said, comparing the feelings of contestant Vijay who had a similar experience taking his parents out to a restaurant for the first time on their wedding anniversary in 2024.

Vijay, the contestant who was on the show with his mother, revealed that his father was a daily wage labourer, and they had been living in a one bedroom apartment for years. He took his parents out to dinner and made them order what they want without looking at the price. Amitabh Bachchan complimented Vijay’s thinking and affection for his parents.

Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 has made some changes, such as added prize money for contestants. The initial question is now worth Rs. 5,000, and the first milestone is Rs. 25,000, which was Rs. 10,000 earlier. The second milestone of the show has also been raised to Rs. 5 lakh from Rs. 3.20 lakh. These changes are intended to make the game more thrilling and rewarding for the contestants.

The show can be watched on Sony TV and SonyLIV with new episodes telecasting every Monday to Friday. Reportedly, to celebrate Independence Day, Col Sofiya, Wing Commander Vyomika, and Commander Prerna will also appear on the show with Amitabh Bachchan on August 15.
