After Madhuri, Rahaman arrives in Odisha for Hockey World Cup Opening Ceremony
Bhubaneswar: Grammy award-winning music composer AR Rahman arrived in the city this evening to perform at the opening ceremony of Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup tomorrow, which would be his maiden performance in Odisha. Bollywood’s ‘dhak dhak’ girl Madhuri Dixit had also arrived earlier today.
Rahaman is the man behind the anthem of Hockey World Cup – ‘Jai Hind India’ – which has been penned by the veteran Bollywood lyricist Gulzar.
The music Maestro had visited the city on Friday during which he had a lunch with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence – Naveen Niwas. On the occasion, Patnaik also released the audio version of ‘Jai Hind India’.
Rahman will perform at the Opening Ceremony of Hockey World Cup at Kalinga Stadium tomorrow along with Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was also featured in the teaser of the anthem of the tournament.
Apart from performing at Kalinga Stadium, the Oscar award winner will also perform at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on the following day as part of the Hockey Men’s World Cup celebration.
