Aditya Pancholi booked on rape charges, Denies allegations
Mumbai: Actor Aditya Pancholi was on late Thursday was booked on rape charges. This was based on a complaint was registered with the Versova police by a Bollywood actor. However, Pancholi has denied all allegations.
According to the Versova police, the actor recorded her statement on Thursday afternoon.
“We have registered an offence of rape, wrongful restraint, assault and criminal intimidation under the Indian Penal Code,” Mumbai Police spokesperson DCP Manjunath Singe said.
The actor, in her complaint, has also alleged that Aditya Pancholi had intercourse with her against her wishes by giving her intoxicants. He also took pictures of the act without her knowledge. These were later used to blackmail her into submission and extort ₹50 lakh from her, sources said.
Meanwhile, Pancholi and his wife Zarina Wahab, also an actress, denied all allegations vehemently.
“I am being falsely implicated in this case. I have all the evidence and video in this case. I am ready to cooperate with the Mumbai Police. If they will call me for my statement, then I will cooperate. I am ready for investigation. I knew that a case will be registered against me. I am not going anywhere. The police have not approached me after the FIR was registered,” NDTV reported Pancholi’s statement.
