Damodar Rout’s daughter Pritinanda withdraws nomination

Bhubaneswar: In yet another political development in poll-bound Capital City Bhubaneswar, senior leader Damodar Rout’s daughter Pritinanda Routray on Monday withdrew her nomination for Odisha Assembly election and declared to stay away from 2019 poll race.

Pritinanda, who had quit Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on March 16 and later filed her nomination as an independent candidate from Bhubaneswar North Assembly Constituency took the decision due to the delay in getting a poll symbol from the Election Commission.

In her reaction after the step the former Corporator of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation said that she found it difficult to reach all the voters of his constituency in a short period of time of just 8-9 days, following the delay in approval of the poll symbol.

Notably, Pritinanda’s father Damodar Rout had recently joined BJP and filed his nomination for Balikuda-Ersama Assembly Constituency yesterday.
