Bhubaneswar: Raising worries for BJP all set to bring a change of guard in the state in the upcoming election, the party’s MLA candidate from Kakatpur Tusharkanti Behera today joined BJD.
Behera was inducted to BJD’s fold at Naveen Niwas in the presence of party supremo Naveen Patanik this morning.
Expressing his happiness over Behera’s decision, Naveen said his joining will further strengthen the party.
Notably, it is not the first occasion that a BJP leader named in party’s candidate list for the upcoming election has switched over to the conch party. Earlier, senior leader of BJP Bhagirathi Sethi had also resigned from the party despite being allotted a ticket to fight from Anandapur constituency. He later joined the ruling party.
In another development, 50 BJP leaders from Barpalli assembly constituency have also joined BJD today.
