BJD fields Minakshi Mahanta from Champua Assembly constituency

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced Minakshi  Mahanta as the party’s candidate from Champua Assembly constituency in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.

In 2014 elections, the BJD had fielded Olywood actor Tatwa Prakash Satpathy alias Papu Pom Pom from the mining rich constituency.

However, the popular comedian lost the elections to the local strong man and Independent candidate Sanatan Mahakud by a margin of around 14000 votes.
