BJD chief Naveen Patnaik slams BJP leaders in Kalimela public meet

Malkangiri: Biju Janta Dal chief Naveen Patnaik slammed BJP leaders and the central government for paying attention to Odisha only during elections and staging hurdle for the state’s development for putting a hold on projects. He spoke at the Kalimela public meet.

Mr Patnaik took no names in particular but minced no words in criticizing the various BJP leaders visiting the state. He said, “Where was the concern of these top BJP leaders when natural calamities hit Odisha? These are ‘crocodile’s tears’. They are only visiting because their ulterior motive is winning in upcoming elections.”

“Who will be the actual beneficiaries of Pollavaram project?” asked Naveen Patnaik

He also accused the BJP-ruled central government of being a hurdle to Odisha’s growth by putting on hold the monumental and developmental KBK projects. He added that the Modi-led government has stopped the SC/ST scholarship programme.

He assured the Odisha dwellers by saying, “I was and will always be there for you. The 4.5 crore Odia people are my family. I need your blessings and support as always.”

Odisha’s four-time chief minister is on a marathon election campaign where his first stop was a public meet at Kalimela which will be then followed by a road show to other places in Malkangiri and Koraput.
