Son Of Housekeeper Tops Punjab Board In Science Stream

A local nursing home’s housekeeping staff member and single mother’s son, Rohit Kumar, topped the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class 12 science stream exams.

Rohit Kumar, a student from the Kamahi Devi Government Senior Secondary School in Hoshiarpur, achieved a score of 496/500 (99.20%) on the exam and wishes to enlist himself in the Indian Army.

Rohit, would put in a lot of effort in the classroom because his mother works as a cleaner and cannot even afford to pay his school fees.

Rohit attributes his success to the principal and the teachers of his school who continued to educate throughout breaks to ensure that the student’s success in exams, as per the reports.

Rohit said that they could not afford any tuition and principal of his school apparently waived his fees  because his mother’s salary isn’t enough to effectively feed him and his sister.
