Indian students bagged Rs 1.22 crore dream job at Amazon

Two engineering students of SVKM’s NMIMS Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering (MPSTME) have bagged their dream jobs with e-commerce giant Amazon at an annual pay package of Rs 1.22 crore each.

Both the students, Yohaan Vakil and Tanuj Chaniyari, currently pursuing a BTech Computer Engineering from MPSTME, will be joining the Dublin office of Amazon as graduate software development engineers. The position is a highly sought one with the world’s largest e-commerce marketeer.

Talking about the huge achievement, Tanuj Chaniyari said,  “I am thankful to my school for making me eligible for this opportunity. According to my job interview experience, employers look for a deep and intuitive understanding of the core subjects and problem-solving skills in candidates.”

Yohaan Vakil said, “My educational journey with MPSTME has been the most rewarding experience of my life. The teaching pattern is not only academically driven but a lot of emphasis is also placed on nurturing soft skills.”

Both the meritorious students mentioned in their statements that consistent studying, grabbing all learning opportunities and diligently following the curriculum were the things that made the job possible for them.

On the great achievements of the students, Dr. Alka Mahajan, Dean, MPSTME, said, “We are immensely proud of Yohaan and Tanuj for their accomplishments. MPSTME’s primary objective is to build a generation of holistically trained engineers possessing sound technical expertise that will create technology that serves the changing needs of the present world. Yohaan and Tanuj are shining examples of this vision and I am confident that they will carry on the learnings from the institute to bring about a revolutionary change in the technology industry.”

Amazon, ranked second among the Fortune 500 companies and also got a mention on the Forbes list of top five best employers globally, has given the opportunity to the selected students for the said job in which the job role includes designing and building innovative technologies in a large, distributed computing environment and helping lead fundamental changes in the industry.
