Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme: Students under the age group of 10 to 14 years to get money

Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme 2022-23 is an initiative by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) (an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Culture of Government of India) for students under the age group of 10 to 14 years.

The objective of this scheme is to provide specialised training to talented children in various cultural fields with a special focus on rare art forms which are on the verge of extinction. The selected scholars will receive Rs 3,600 per year and a reimbursement of up to Rs 9,000 per year towards the actual tuition fee.

The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Culture of the Government of India.

Eligibility of Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme

To be eligible, an applicant must –

• Be a young student under the age group of 10 to 14 years
• Be studying in a recognised school or belong to those families who practice traditional performing arts
• Have a total monthly income of less than Rs 8,000

Benefits of Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme

• The selected students will receive Rs 3,600 per year and a reimbursement of up to Rs 9,000 per year for the fee paid to the institution/Guru/teacher to receive specialised training.

Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme: Selection Criteria

• The candidates will be based on an interview/test. The candidates appearing for the interview/test will be evaluated on a scale of 1 to 10 marks by each expert committee member. The decision made by the Central Selection Committee will be final.

Terms and Conditions of Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme

• The CCRT can take the help of the Central Board of Secondary Education, Education Boards of State Government and other Non-Governmental Voluntary Organizations in identifying talented students in various fields(s).
• There is no State/UT wise quota for grant of scholarships under the Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme.
• A scholarship holder shall not receive any other scholarship/ stipend in the concerned art form without the prior approval of the CCRT, during the tenure of the CTSS Scheme.
• Only the shortlisted candidates will be informed by post about the dates, timings and venue of the Interviews/Tests which may be conducted at the Regional level during the months of May-August of every year.
