12-member World Bank team visits KISS

KIIS visitBhubaneswar: A 12-member delegation of the World Bank visited the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) campus on Wednesday.

The team headed by World Bank’s country director for India Junaid Kamal Ahmad was given a grand welcome by the Founder of KISS Dr Achyuta Samanta and the students of the institution. It also had a glimpse of the infrastructure and academic facilities at the institution.

Ahmad, who happens to be a renowned economist of Bangladesh, took part in sapling plantation with Dr Samanta inside the campus during his visit. He was all praise for the Founder of the KISS.

“I had visited this largest tribal residential institution for the last time way back in 2005. I am surprised at the changes and modifications the institution has made in the last 10 years,” Ahmad said.

“All credit goes to Dr Samanta under whose guidance the institution has brought a revolution in the lives of thousands of tribal children through educational opportunity. All my congratulations and all of our praise for Dr Samanta for having done this,” he added.
