Odisha: Effect Of Omicron Not Severe, Bijay Mohapatra

Bhubaneswar: The effect of Omicron may not be severe said the Director of Health Services, Odisha.

The Director of Health Services, Bijay Mohapatra said that the Omicron strain of Covid is expected to be less severe and this has been proved through two studies.

But as a word of caution, he added that “we all have to remain alert like earlier and we have to lay emphasis on controlling large gatherings and crowding”

But is is noteworthy that various district administrations in Odisha are taking efforts to contain the spread of the virus.

Section 144 has been clamped in and around temple areas and tourist places of Dhenkanal District in Odisha.

The restriction has been imposed by the administration from December 25th till January 02 2022.

The district administration has also added that cultural, religious functions and gatherings shall not be allowed during this period.

The order has been passed under the hand and seal of the District Magistrate of Dhenkanal.

The restrictions have been imposed keeping in view the crowd that is expected to gather in and around these places during the festive season.
