Bhubaneswar: India reported as many as 1,61,386 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total infection tally in the country to 4,16,30,885.
It is noteworthy that as many as 1,733 deaths were recorded in India in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 4,97,975, as per Union Health Ministry
The new Covid related cases were three percent lower than yesterday’s 1.67 lakh daily spike.
According to the Health Ministry, the Covid positivity rate dropped to 9.26 percent from yesterday’s 11.6 percent, while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 14.15 percent.
India’s active caseload presently stands at 16.21 lakh cases.
In the ongoing Covid vaccination drive across the country, over 75 per cent of the country’s adult population is now fully vaccinated.
