Bhubaneswar: Good news for customers, one can now withdraw money without an ATM card by following these simple and easy steps. All that is required is a smartphone.
Customers can now withdraw cash using their mobile with any UPI enabled app such as BHIM, Paytm, GPay etc.
The best thing is that, there is no need to swipe or carry any card to withdraw money. The only requirement however is an UPI enabled ATM.
One needs to scan the QR code on the screen and authorise cash withdrawal through his or her mobile phone. It is noteworthy that, to make transactions more safe and secure, the QR code shall change constantly.
At present, the withdrawal limit is capped at Rs. 5,000 and since it is UPI-based no additional regulatory permission is required.
A simple software upgrade in the existing ATMs is required for this feature to be functional.
