Updated TVS Apache RTR 160 4V launched in India with various riding modes and SmartXonnect feature

It seems that TVS motors is on a launching spree for the past couple weeks. After launching the TVS Raider 125 and TVS Jupiter 125 in the past few days, the company has launched TVS Apache RTR 160 4V in India. The new model of the RTR 4V gets a bunch of upgrades along with SmartXonnect technology. TVS also offers Special edition for the Apache RTR 160 4V.

The motorcycle is powered by 159.7cc, 4-stroke, 4-valve, oil-cooled engine. While the peak power of the engine is 17.63 PS at 9250rpm, the maximum torque of the engine is 14.73 Nm at 7250 rpm. The Fi (fuel injected) engine gets a five-speed gearbox along with various riding modes. The engine has three riding modes- Urban, Sport and Rain.

In terms of brakes, TVS offers three variants of the RTR 160 4V – one with front disc and rear drum, front and rear disc variant and front and rear disc variant with smartphone connectivity. The variants are priced at Rs 1,15,265, Rs 1,17,350 and Rs 1,20,050 respectively. The special edition is priced at Rs 1,21, 372. The front disc is 270 mm and rear disc is 200mm. On the other hand the rear drum (for the rear disc variant) is 130mm. For safety reasons a single-channel ABS is offered as standard.

Some additional features on the bike include new headlamp, gear position indicator and LED DRL. Except for the base variants, the RTR 160 4V gets radial tyres. The suspension of the bike is handled by a telescopic front fork and a monoshock at the rear.

The Special edition of the RTR 160 4V gets a matte black colour scheme with red alloy wheels and TVS SmartXonnet. The sports bike also gets an adjustable brake and clutch lever along with a printed logo. The regular models of the RTR 160 4V is offered in three colours- Racing Red, Metallic Blue, and Knight Black.
