TVS teases the launch of new scooter in India, likely to be new Jupiter 125

TVS Motor Company has teased the launch of a new scooter in India on October 7. The two-wheeler manufacturer took to Instagram and announced the upcoming launch. The short teaser video has a tagline “It’s time for more”. The company has revealed that after just 4 days we can experience more with every ride.

Even though the company has not revealed anything about the upcoming model of the scooter, it can be assumed that it is a new Jupiter 125. From the new teaser it can be seen that the scooter has two DRLs at the face which is quite similar to the Jupiter.

The new TVS Jupiter 125 is expected to strengthen the 125cc segment of TVS and will be elder sibling of Jupiter 110. The Jupiter 125 is likely to rival the Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125.  In terms of price, it is expected that the new Jupiter 125 will be similar to that of Ntorq 125. In terms of power, the TVS Jupiter is expected to feature the same engine as the Ntorq 125. The 124.8 cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine could be used with slight modifications for better fuel economy.

In term of features, the scooter could get a sharp body panels, a fully digital instrument cluster along with Bluetooth connectivity. However, it is quite early to assume about the functions and specifications of the new scooter.

Recently, TVS has launched Raider 125 motorcycle in India. TVS Raider 125 is offered in two variants in India- the drum brake variant and the disc brake variant. While the drum brake variant costs Rs 77,500, the disc brake variant costs Rs 85,469. Some prominent features of the bike include a muscular tank, split-seat set up, sharp led design etc.

The motorcycle is powered by 124.8cc, 4-stroke, 3-valve, air-cooled engine. While the peak torque of the engine is 11.2Nm at 6,000rpm, the maximum power of the engine is 11.4hp at 7500rpm. The Fi (fuel injected) engine gets a five-speed gearbox and offers a fuel efficiency of 67kmpl. Keeping in mind about the rising fuel prices the Raider offers a good combination of mileage and style for a commuter bike.
