Triumph Thruxton 400 spotted while testing in India, launch expected soon
The Triumph Thruxton 400 will be using a lot of parts that is offered in the Speed 400, Speed T4 as well as the Scrambler 400X.
The Triumph Thruxton 400 is expected to launch in India very soon. The motorcycle was spotted in its production ready guise while testing in India, reported acko drive. The Triumph Thruxton 400 is expected to increase the popularity of the 400cc segment in India.
The Triumph Thruxton 400 will be using a lot of parts that is offered in the Speed 400, Speed T4 as well as the Scrambler 400X. The major similarity is the 398cc engine that is used in the models. The engine is jointly made by Triumph and Bajaj. It is not the engine but the tuning of it that is unknown. For those who are unknown, the 400cc engine is offered in two types of tuning.
In terms of design, the Triumph Thruxton 400 will be offering design elements from the Thruxton 1200. It is quite unknown what will be the final name of the vehicle. There is also a possibility that the motorcycle can be known as Speed 400 RS which is similar to the larger Speed Twin 1200 RS.
The motorcycle will offers a small bikini fairing just like a café racer along with clip-on handlebars and bar-end mirrors. On the other hand, the rear section is different than the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X.
When it comes to price, we expect that the Triumph Thruxton 400 will be placed between the Speed and Scrambler 400. The Speed T4 is offered with a discount of Rs 18,000 and the current price is Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the Speed 400 is priced at Rs 2.40 lakh, the Scrambler 400 X costs Rs 2.64 lakh.
