This upcoming Maruti Hybrid 7-seater SUV will rival the likes of Alcazar, XUV 700 in the Indian market

The Japanese company will also launch EV based on the Vitara and it will be known as e Vitara. The 7-seater new SUV that will be launched by the company will be codenamed Y17.

The upcoming Maruti Hybrid 7-seater SUV will be a three-row SUV and it will be based on the Grand Vitara. This will help Maruti to save a lot on the production and development costs. According to the spy shots, the Maruti Y17 will offer a long body and it will have a longer wheelbase. We expect the 7 seater model to have a different design as compared to the Grand Vitara. The test prototypes were spotted with headlights along with functional grille that is like the Maruti e Vitara.

Wheels of the 7-seater SUV/Y17 are expected to offer 17-inch alloy wheels for better ride quality and efficiency. It is expected to offer wider rear doors for in/out of the passengers. The Maruti Suzuki Y17 is expected to offer slim tail lamps just like the Grand Vitara.

When it comes to the interior of the Maruti Y17 spy shots have revealed that it will offer a new dashboard, a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system like the Grand Vitara’s unit. Maruti Suzuki is likely to offer the three row SUV with 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster from e Vitara rather than a smaller unit from the Grand Vitara’s 7-inch information display.

The engine on the SUV will be the same 1.5-litre naturally aspired and 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid engines. The gearbox options are also expected to be the same as the 5-seater variant. The output is expected to be 102hp and 136.8 Nm. There will be a mild-hybrid system on-board. On the other hand, the full hybrid is expected to offer 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. The engine is likely to offer 91 hp and 122 Nm of torque with an AC synchronous motor that generates 79 hp and 141 Nm of torque.
