Tata Tigor EV makes its debut in India, to offer 80 per cent charge in just one hour

Tata Motors has unveiled new Tata Tigor Electric Vehicle (EV) in the Indian automobile market. With the launch of Tata Tigor EV, the company has two electric cars in the country.

Customers who are interested to purchase the Tigor EV can book it at just Rs 21,000. The Tigor EV is expected to go for sale in from August 31.

The Tata Tigor EV is powered by a 26 kWh Li-ion battery pack and can be charged up to 80 per cent with a fast charger. However, for home charging Tata provides a 15A plug point. The 15A plug point will provide 0 per cent to 80 per cent power in 8.5 hours.

In terms of efficiency, the Tigor EV is expected to give around 300 km range on a full charge. The EV can hit 0-60 kmph in 5.7 seconds. The motor churns peak power of 55 kW and maximum torque of 170Nm.

The connectivity features of the EV include a 7-inch HARMAN touchscreen infotainment system along with 4 speakers. The Tigor also gets automatic climate control, height adjustable driver seats, auto foldable mirrors, smart key etc.

Some safety features included in the car include multiple airbags, corner stability control, hill ascent control, ABS system along with EBD etc.

The boot space of the Tigor EV is 316 litres and can be expanded up to 375 litres if users remove spare wheel.
