Tata Motors hikes prices of passenger cars in India, Know important details

Tata Motors has announced a price hike on its passenger vehicles available in India. The price hike has already been implemented across its wide range of cars. However, it should be noted that some variants of Tata motors get a reduction of Rs 10,000.

The average price hike of the vehicles is 0.9 per cent. The hike in car prices has been implemented from January 19. This means that, the customers who have booked the vehicles before January 19 (till January 18) will not be impacted by the recent price hike.

The rise in input costs has resulted in the price hike across different variants, the company clarified. Tata Motors had intimated in December 2021 about the price hike of its vehicles. The input costs include commodities such as steel, aluminium and other precious metals.

The sales of Tata Motors passenger vehicles have significantly increased in December 2021. Tata Motors sales were far more than that of Hyundai in the last month (December 2021), said the company.

Recently the car manufacturer introduced Dark edition of Tata Safari SUV, Tata Tiago CNG and Tata Tigor CNG in India.

Tata Motors finally entered the CNG passenger vehicle market in India with the CNG versions of Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor. Now, Tata Motors has become the third car manufacturer in India after Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki to offer CNG powered cars. Both the Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor are offered with a factory-fitted CNG kits. The deliveries of both the cars are expected to start this month itself. The Tata Tiago CNG price starts from Rs 6.09 lakh and goes up to Rs 7.52 lakh. On the other hand, the Tigor CNG is priced between Rs 7.69 lakh and Rs 8.29 lakh. Both the prices of the Tiago and Tigor are ex-showroom price Delhi.

On the other hand, the most premium SUV of the company, Tata Safari gets a Dark edition. The Tata Safari Dark edition gets a starting price of Rs 19.05 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The SUV is available across XT+/XTA+ and XZ+/XZA+ trims. It is important to note that over 16,000 units of the SUV have been sold in India. Apparently, the Tata Safari is built on the OMEGARC architecture which is derived from D8 platform of Land Rover.
