Tata Motors announces to manufacture 10 new electric vehicles by 2025

Leading automobile manufacturer, Tata motors has announced to launch 10 new electric vehicles in India by 2025.

This announcement by the company comes at a time when car manufacturers across the globe are shifting to cleaner source of energy (electric vehicles).

According to Tata Motors Chairman, N Chandrasekaran, the company is looking to drive its business model towards sustainable mobility. The company is also looking to tie-up with different companies for manufacturing batteries for its upcoming electric vehicles.

Tata Motors is also planning to shift majority of its Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles to electric. The company plans to make Jaguar an all-new electric brand by 2025.

Currently Tata Motors sells two electric vehicles in the Indian market, which are Tata Tigor and Tata Nexon. The Tata Tigor EV is the cheapest electric vehicle offered by the company. It compact sedan costs around Rs 9.58- Rs 9.90 lakh (ex-showroom price, Delhi). The other vehicle which is offered by the company is Tata Nexon hatchback. The Nexon EV costs between Rs 14 lakh to Rs 16.56 lakh (ex-showroom price, Delhi).
