Stock market update: BSE Sensex down 200 points, Nifty trades around 21,000

After yesterday's shocking crash of over 900 points, the stock market opened in the negative territory on Thursday as well.

New Delhi: After yesterday’s shocking crash of over 900 points, the stock market opened in the negative territory on Thursday as well. The Domestic equity benchmark BSE Sensex has opened at 70,215.53 points with a down of 290.78 or 0.41 percent. While Nifty 50 was down 116 points or 055 percent to open at 21,033.95.

At 11.00, the Sensex gained over 72.62 points or 0.10 percent to trade at 70,578.94 and the Nifty 50 traded at 21,174.30 with a 24.14 points or 0.11 percent gain.

The Nifty Bank traded in Red at 47,444. While the Nifty IT was up 122 points to trade at 34,863. The S&P BSE SmallCap traded in green.

On Wednesday, the 30-share BSE Sensex crashed 931 points or 1.30 percent to end at 70,506.31 in the closing session. While the broader NSE Nifty lost 303 points at 21,150 level.
