In the current Indian scenario, the Indian car buyers are more interested to purchase compact SUVs or SUVs instead of a sedan. Sedans are quite often considered as cars while are meant for comfort and luxury. On the other hand, when it comes to bad roads (which are quite common in India) sedans find it difficult to cop up. However, an SUV/ compact SUV will make you at ease while dealing with bad roads. Still, there are niche car buyers (middle-class) who are inclined towards buying a sedan.

This new midsize sedan will compete with the likes of Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Volkswagen Vento in India. This new sedan introduced by Skoda will replace the Rapid in India. In appearance, the Skoda Slavia appears to be a Skoda Octavia within a budget. In terms of hierarchy the Skoda Slavia will fit under Skoda Octavia and Skoda Superb.
