Skoda Karoq Facelift teased globally ahead of Nov 30 launch; What’s new

Skoda has announced to launch the facelift of the Karoq SUV in the global market on 30th November. The company confirmed the launch date of the upcoming SUV in a teaser of the upcoming facelift of the Karoq SUV on their YouTube channel.

The teaser shows the new Karoq looks with a sleeker look and the SUV seems to have got some design elements from the Kodiaq Facelift which is set to launch in India in January of next year. The company has already released exterior sketches of the Karoq Facelift. The upcoming SUV was also spotted without camouflage on the international roads too.

Whats New in the facelift of the Skoda Karoq SUV ?

Though the teaser does not reveal much, it showed the Karoq in a orange colour. The updated Karoq was seen with a 4×4 badge on the tailgate, and new LED projector headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights. The fog lamps also use LED units. The new lighting elements in the upcoming Karoq has hinted that the SUV may come with Matrix headlamps.

The design of the  headlamps and grille have also been changed. Now the headlamps are flatter and the grille is more sleeker than the current Karoq. The company has also redesigned the bumper and gave it a more aggressive look. Skoda has also added a welcome animation to the headlamps.

The teaser shows the SUV with new 18-inch alloy wheels, strong shoulder lines, crystalline LED tail lamps, new front and rear bumpers too. With all these new elements, the Karoq now seems like a smaller version of the Skoda Kodiaq.

The SUV is teased to have some advanced features like automatic light assist, Front Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control etc. This hints that the new Skoda Karoq can come with some autonomous features. Apart from this, the SUV will also have a new touchscreen infotainment system along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The new SUV will have high-end speakers and a subwoofer as audio device.

There will also be dual-zone climate control, a digital instrument cluster, a new two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and an electronic adjustment for the driver’s seat that will have memory function.

Other features of the SUV includes ambient lighting, driving modes, keyless entry, push-button to start/stop the engine, lumbar adjustment for the front seats, panoramic sunroof, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Fatigue Detector, rear parking sensors with a reverse parking camera, Blind Spot Detection, electronic tailgate, and connected car technology .

The Karoq’s facelift is said to be draw power from a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine that produces 150 PS of max power and 250 Nm of peak torque.

Zac Hollis, Director, Sales and Marketing, Skoda India has revealed that the company has no plans of bringing the facelift of the Karoq to India currently. The company brought the Karoq to India as a CBU or Completely Built Unit and only, 2,500 units of the Karoq were imported to our country.

Meanwhile, the Skoda Slavia is open for pre-bookings now and the deliveries is set to start in the first quarter of 2022. The facelift of the Skoda Kodiaq will also be launched the  in January.
