Skoda Cars to cost more from January 2022 in India, Know details about the price rise

If you are planning to purchase a Skoda car in the recent future, then you should rather hurry up. It is so because the company (Skoda) is about to hike the prices of its cars in India. The price hike of the Skoda cars will be implemented from January 2022. The price hike will be applicable on entire range of cars offered by the company in India.

Skoda Auto India will hike the prices of its cars by up to three percent in India. However, the company has clarified that the amount of price hike will be different depending on the model and variant. It is important to note that the Czech car manufacturer has launched Skoda Kushaq and new generation of Skoda Octavia in India in 2021. In 2022, the company will launch the new Skoda Slavia in India. It is expected that the Skoda Slavia will replace the Skoda Rapid in India. On the other hand, the Skoda Kodiaq Facelift will be launched in the first quarter of 2022.

For those who don’t have any idea about the Skoda, the company offers four models in India. The available models in India are Skoda Kushaq, Skoda Rapid, Skoda Octavia and Skoda Superb. The Skoda Rapid is the most affordable car in India and costs between Rs 7.79 lakh to Rs 13.49. On the other hand, the Skoda Superb is currently the most premium car available in the country. The Superb costs between Rs 31.99 lakh to Rs 35.85 lakh in India.

On the other the recently launched Skoda Kushaq costs between Rs 10.79 lakh to Rs 18 lakh in the Indian market. Thesecond generation of Skoda Octavia costs between Rs 26.29 lakh to Rs 29.29 lakh.

Considering that the Skoda Slavia will be based on a platform that is mostly localised, the price will be starting around Rs 10 lakh. It will compete with the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.

The facelift version of Skoda Kodiaq is expected to be priced around Rs 35 lakh in India.  As the Ford Endeavour is out of the picture, it is expected that the upgraded Kodiaq will give a proper competition to the Toyota Fortuner.
