Sensex rises 200 pts, Nifty at 19,900; Adani Ent gains 2%
In the early trade, the BSE Sensex index gained 200 points to 66,800, and the NSE Nifty50 index rose 70 points to 19,900.
New Delhi: Equity benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened on a positive note on Monday. On the first day of the week, the BSE Sensex index gained 200 points to 66,800, and the NSE Nifty50 index rose 70 points to 19,900 as it inched closer to the historic 20,000-mark.
Adani Ports, Adani Enterprises, Jio Financial, Tata Motors and HCL Technologies were among major gainers on the Nifty. Adani Ports and Adani Enterprises lead the charge on Nifty50 with a gain of 2 per cent each.
Meanwhile, Infosys, IndusInd Bank, HUL , Eicher Motors and Bharti Airtel were among the top laggards.
