SBI to charge for online transactions from August 15, check details

The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced that it will change the charges for Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) transactions effective from 15th August.

According the official website of SBI, from 15th August, if you transaction more than Rs. 25,000 online you have to pay a nominal fee. Transactions above Rs. 25,000 but below Rs. 1 lakh will cost Rs 2 plus GST.

Similarly, transactions between Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 2 lakh will cost Rs. 6 plus GST and transactions between Rs.2 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh will cost Rs. 10 plus GST.

Further, customers having salary packages account reportedly will still get free online IMPS transactions.
For corporate customers, the new charges will apply from 8th September. SBI will also continue to give free online

IMPS transactions for certain accounts like Gold, Diamond, Platinum and Rhodium in addition to government department accounts and autonomous bodies.

IMPS is a service that allows customers to send money instantly. The new rule will only apply to transactions made through online methods such as internet banking and mobile banking. Transactions done at bank branches will not be affected. It will continue under the old charges.
