Royal Enfield gets fresh treatment, to launch in the Indian market as Super Meteor Cruiser 650

In the recent years, Royal Enfield has been improvising the technology in its bikes and it has been proved by the sales figure. Recently, Royal Enfield has introduced the new generation of Classic 350 and it was well received by the users. However, the bike manufacturer has planned to launch some more products and improve its existing line-up. The manufacturer will launch two 650cc bikes and a 411cc bike. While the 411cc bike will be based on Himalayan, the other two bikes will be a retro-style 650 motorcycle and a 650 cruiser.

As far as it is known the 650 cruiser will be named Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and will be premiered at 2021 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The Royal Enfield Super Meteor is expected to be elder sibling of the Meteor 350. It is important to mention that the name ‘Super Meteor’ was used previously in the United States Market in the 1950s.

In terms of engine specifications, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 will be powered by a 648cc, twin cylinder engine and is coupled with 6 speed gearbox. The parallel cylinder engine is paired with an oil cooled fuel injected engine and churns out a maximum power of 47 PS. The peak torque of the vehicle is 52 Nm.

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is expected to inherit the technological features from the Meteor 350. This means that it will have tripper navigation along with a digital or semi digital instrument cluster. In terms of suspension, the bike will have USD front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The bike will have disc brakes at both front and rear wheels along with a dual-channel ABS as standard.

Speaking about the price of the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, it is expected to cost around Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom). It will also be made available in the International markets. In the recent years, Royal Enfield has been successful in selling its bikes in the American as well as other international markets.

On the other hand, the 411cc bike scheduled for recent launch, will be a road based Himalayan. The other 650cc bike slated for launch will be a retro-styled bike and the engine specification will be similar to Super Meteor.
