Reliance Jio offering two days of free service to these users; Know why

Reliance Jio is reportedly giving two days of free service to users in Mumbai, who had to face network issues on Saturday, reported TelecomTalk. According to reports, the Jio network was down for some users for almost eight hours on Saturday. The Jio subscribers in Mumbai were unable to make or receive calls during this outage.

To compensate the affected users, the telecom operator has decided to give users two days of free service which will be added to their number automatically. That means the validity of the current plan that the users are using will be extended for two more days.

The affected users are reportedly receiving a text from the company regarding this. The message said that though Jio team was able to resolve the network issue in a matter of hour the overall experience was not particularly nice for the customers and apologized for the incident.

Jio requested its users to restart their phones as the services were getting restored in a phased manner.

This is not the first time Jio has offered free service to users due to network issues. In 2021, Reliance Jio also offered two extra days of services to users as the telco’s networks were down. This benefit will only be offered to the customers who were affected and not the entire user base of the telecom operator.

However, Reliance Jio is yet to release a official statement explaining the reason why its networks went down.

This is the second time in two years that Jio’s networks have gone down for hours.

Note that the company hasn’t confirmed that this benefit is being extended to every user affected.
