Ola teases its upcoming electric car, will it start an electric revolution

It seems that the age of electric cars in not far from becoming a reality. Ola which has recently entered the electric vehicle market in India with its electric scooter might launch electric car soon. The company (OLA) CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has recently shared an idea of the upcoming electric car manufactured by the company and we are very excited about it.

The teaser image shared by the company CEO shows an electric car that resembles like a futuristic car. To be specific the teased image of OLA car seems to be a pod used in Sci-fi movies. No door handles were seen on the vehicle and there was a dominance of glass on the exterior of the car too. While many Twitter users were quite excited about the upcoming car many criticised the design of the car.

A specific tweet mentioned by a Twitter user showed a Tata Nexon EV and an Ola S1 e-scooter. The OLA CEO commented on the particular tweet that “Next car replacement should be the Ola electric car.”

Ola Electric on Monday (24th January) announced that it has raised over $200 million from Tekne Private Ventures, Alpine Opportunity Fund, Edelweiss and others.

The latest round values the company at $5 billion.

“We have changed the entire scooter industry and are now looking forward to bringing our innovative products to more two-wheeler categories including bikes as well as cars. I thank the investors for their support and look forward to partnering with them to take the EV revolution from India to the world,” Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CEO, Ola said in a statement.

Over the last 12 months Ola Electric has built the Future factory which is now producing almost 1,000 units of its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters per day, Aggarwal said earlier.

In a tweet, Aggarwal shared a picture of the scooters with the caption: “Production just for today so far!”

“Future factory now producing almost 1000 scooters a day. Opening up purchase window for remaining customers soon,” he wrote in the tweet.

In December end, Ola Electric had revealed that it has dispatched all units of its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters to its customers.
