Ola S1 and S1 Pro comparision: Which one is the most desirable electric scooter among Indians

The Ola S1 Electric scooter (S1 and S1 Pro) received a tremendous response from the customers after its launch on August 15. The scooter went on sale from September 9 and received huge success in terms of sales. According to the company, they did a business of around Rs 1,100 crore in just two days.

As the Ola S1 Electric scooter is offered in two trims, many users are still confused about which variant they should buy. While the S1 is introduced at an attractive price of Rest 99,000, the top spec S1 Pro is offered at Rest 1.29 lakh. Keeping in mind about the price of both the electric bikes, it was assumed that the S1 will sell more than the S1 Pro. However, according to a media report, the S1 Pro variant is the one which outsells the lower priced S1.

However, keeping the price point aside, there are multiple reasons which might have been considered by the customers during the booking of the electric scooter.

The OLA S1 has a battery capacity of 2.98kWh while OLA S1 Pro has a battery capacity of 3.97kWh. The higher battery capacity provides a total range of 181km on S1 Pro. However, its younger sibling the S1 gets a total range of only 121 mms. This means that the S1 gets 60km less mileage than the Pro version.

In terms of top speed, the S1 Pro offers a top speed of 115kmph. Contrastingly the S1 offers 90 mph top speed. This means the S1 Pro is 25kmph faster than the S1.

Both the battery of the S1 Pro and the S1 can offer 75km in 18 min on fast charging. As the S1 Pro has a larger battery, it takes longer to get fully charged than its younger sibling.

In order to book the OLA electric scooter users have to pay Rest 499 at the company official website ‘olaelectric.com’. The deliveries of the OLA electric scooter will be solely on the basis of booking numbers.

In terms of colours the Ola electric offers customers to select from a range of 10 colours which include gold, pink, black, blue, red, blue, yellow, silver, gravy and white. The Ola Electric scooter offers a very practical feature for its users- the reverse mode, revealed the company. Additionally the scooter also gets a keyless start/ stop feature.
