Kia is working on a new compact SUV that will rival Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. The rumoured model has been spotted testing on multiple occasions. Moreover, It has also been confirmed that the Kia compact SUV will be coming to the Indian market.
The new Kia compact SUV will likely be called Clavis, and will be placed under the Sonet in the Indian market. Accordinng to rumours, the said Kia Clavis will be launched next year and should use the same underpinnings and platform as the Sonet. oweverm it will HiHoewHHHowever, it will have a trimed down feature list and a tweaked less powerful powertrains.
The Kia compact SUV will likely be offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine. This mill would be mated to either five-speed MT or a first-in segment five-speed automated manual.
Kia has said that its customers are showing minimal to no inclination towards CNG but once it enters this part of the market, it will have to jump into the gas game if it wants volumes from this model. The tech already exists in the Exter and a boot-saving dual-cylinder layout no less.
The Clavis has been spotted on multiple occasions and from the images we can see a boxy shape with low seat headlamps, big wheels and a square stance for that old-school SUV look. The feature list is expected to include dual screens, climate control, LED lights and height adjustment for the driver’s seat.
